Wildfire

The Pole Room NZ is proud to present Wildfire Amateur Pole Competition 2024, Sunday 17 March, Wellington, New Zealand

Wildfire Facebook Page

Wildfire Amateur Pole Competition is a fun, inclusive show that draws upon the incredible pole dance talent found throughout New Zealand. We are looking for entertaining performers to get up on stage and show us their skills. We endeavour to offer something a bit different from other pole competitions run in New Zealand. Think of Wildfire as the little sister to our fabulous long-running competition Pole Inferno!

We will include as many dancers from varied backgrounds and different levels as we can. Emphasis will be placed on new performers and relatively inexperienced performers. If you have performed in student showcases or NZAPP this is the competition for you. It is also suitable for first-time performers.

Pole fitness students, pole dance teachers, exotic dancers and new performers are all welcome to enter. We welcome all genders. Very experienced performers should enter Pole Inferno instead.

Doubles and group submissions are welcome and will compete in a separate category.

In 2024 we will be running four categories:

1. Pole Open: Theme 1: "The Future is Here"
2. Pole Open: Theme 2: "Paint Me Baby One More Time"
3. Pole No Inverts: "Pop Hits & Misses"
4. Doubles & Group pole category - All the themes! ("The Future is Here", "Paint Me Baby" & "Pop Hits & Misses")

Wildfire takes place over three shows on Sunday 17th March 2024. Times of the three shows have not been decided yet. Our venue is Te Auaha in central Wellington and is a privately run, ticketed event.

The poles are two X-Stages one set to Static and one set to Spin. (Other pole settings will be available for the group category). The stage is large and very suitable for floorwork.

Winners from the two "Open" and "No Inverts" categories will get automatic entry to Pole Inferno held later in 2024.

More prizes to be announced closer to the date.

Some advice about entries

We are looking for fresh, new performers with unique and quirky concepts!

All levels will be considered. We love supporting beginners and there is also plenty of room for higher level polers.

The "No Invert" category is suitable for beginners.

The two "Open" categories are suitable for intermediate and advanced polers: If you want to go upside down - these are the categories for you.

Pole instructors are welcome to apply (very experienced people would be better suited for Pole Inferno.)

A category where experienced pole dancers and instructors could enter is in the group category. A scenario where a very experienced pole dancer or instructor performs in a group routine is welcome.

Please note: We will do our best to fit you into the category you desire, but we might offer you a spot in a different category if appropriate
