Pole Inferno Pole Dance Competition is a fun, inclusive show that draws upon the incredible pole dance talent found throughout New Zealand.

We are looking for entertaining performers to get up on stage and show us their skills. We endeavour to offer something a bit different from other pole competitions run in New Zealand. We will include as many dancers from varied backgrounds and different levels as we can.

Pole fitness students, pole dance teachers, strippers, experienced performers and new performers are all welcome to enter. Doubles pole submissions are welcome and will compete along with solo competitors. We welcome all genders.

In 2024 we will be running four categories all with themes:

1. Pole Open category - 'Animal Farm'
2. Pole Open category - 'Fun and Games'
3. Floor & Base Work - 'Nightmares & Dreamscapes'
4. Over 35s Pole category - Choose from the 3 themes ('Animal Farm', Fun and Games', 'Nightmares & Dreamscapes').

Pole Inferno takes place over two days: Saturday 1st June and Sunday 2nd June (King's Birthday Weekend).

Our venue is Te Auaha, Wellington, and is a privately run, ticketed event.

The Pole Room NZ is a Wellington-based pole event that has been running for thirteen years focusing on bringing the pole community together for entertaining pole shows featuring pole dancers from around New Zealand. 2024 is the sixth year Pole Inferno has been held.

Some advice about entries

We are looking for fresh performers with unique and quirky concepts!

Please note that Pole Inferno is NOT limited to very experienced performers. If you have an interesting idea and you have some performance experience, give it a go!

Pole Inferno aims to be a creative, fun and inspiring set of shows. We want the competitive side of the event to be secondary to running an enjoyable show for the performers and the audience. We hope to provide a different vibe and set of values from other pole competitions in New Zealand and hope to include as many talented individuals as we can.
